IDPM
Institute for Digital Production Management (IDPM)
The Institute for Digital Production Management works with companies to research the digital transformation in industry. The focus is on the digital design of processes in production, sales and service.
The research focuses on the following areas in particular:
- Methodological and content-related development of digitalisation strategies
- Digital production planning and control (APS, MOM, MES...)
- Use of AI methods for industrial fields of application (e.g. predictive maintenance)
- Digital platforms for cooperation in cross-company value creation networks
- Digital business models for value-added services in industry
In addition to the technical aspects of digital transformation, the IDPM also considers economic and social aspects.
Research projects
The IDPM Institute is currently working on several research projects:
- KIOekoSys - Ecosystem for predictive maintenance in electronics production
- KI4CoSchedule - Cross-company value chains based on optimised production planning with AI models
- KI4Service - Use of AI methods to optimise service processes
- Syntegon cooperation on the topics of automation technology and I4.0
Laboratory and equipment
Modern control systems, production-related software systems and digitalisation solutions (Industry 4.0) have been implemented in the IDPM laboratory and are being successively developed further in research work.
